The 40 over match between Nottinghamshire and Lancashire at Trent Bridge on the 22nd July 2006 was abandoned when a MCS struck the ground producing daytime darkness.
 
Here's Sky Sports footage and a BBC forecast showing a radar image of the storm. This was mid-afternoon but look how dark it is behind the commentary team whilst having a discussion. It looks as dark as night!

Ahhh remember this day very well. Came after some intense storms at dawn and hot late morning sunshine. Just remember being in Peterborough city centre and everyone running about frantically as the wind and rain was incredible!
