Just been out chasing the cell that moved through Shaftesbury/Salisbury area, drove through some of the most torrential rain/hail I've ever experienced, A36/303 flooded in places. Saw a few nice CG bolts but most of it seems to be IC.

Having a great storm in chelt whilst shopping with the Mrs.  Really good fork lightening and very close loud booms. Really impressive for day time and a bit surprised to be honest

They've suspended that football match in Swindon. Must be pretty bad

Meanwhile in bexley...(crickets).

That radar is going berserk! I just wish it was going beserk over me. Cant believe the storm drought we've had these past few months. As always I'm happy for others and there are some lovely pictures of todays activity in this thread, but I can't help wondering when or even if we're going to get our turn. At the risk of sounding like an infant...it aint fair!

I know what you mean, its one thing to see big storms over the channel but to have them so close is painful!

I'm not surprised...I think it was in August 1968 that a load of footy-players got struck in Macclesfield...It might even have been the same weekend?

My goodness. Gutted I'm missing out on this lot! Hope you enjoy it folks and get as much footage as you can. Looks to be the best chasing day of the year by far.

I was going to comment on that.. There's a lot of weird cloud around today! Here's an image of some really high level looking stuff that happened between showers

I can see what looks a little like Ac Cas to my NW towards N London way - still flat and uninspiring overhead.

It's always you over there that misses it if I recall correctly! There was that storm in Spring that was awesome round this side of The Wash and all you got is a view of the backside of it!

Just got back in from a drive to Fairford, biblical rain, constant thunder, like I have never heard before, a lot of very nice C to G lightening. As I type this I am sat in bright sunshine still hearing the thunder, a 5 mile drive from Fairford. A pity it wasn't at night but anyway first storm this year so mustn't grumble!! A lot of roads are flooded in the Fairford region but coming into the farm yard here at home there was still dust to be found, very localized.

I'm hearing rumbles every few minutes from a cell 30-35 miles southish of me, pleasant welcome sound. The storms are slowly approached towards me from the south-west now and I'm expecting more regular nearby rumbles in the next few hours, good luck to everyone in the east, it's starting now!

Always do mate. Barely ever strike gold!

Been watching small cumulus all day on santorini try to break the cap, but it ain't happening! Peterborough on the one time that I'm away looks to be right in the firing line of that monster in the south Midlands! Frustrated is an understatement!!!
