Saying that, a new cell seems to be developing around Glastonbury which would put Bristol area in the firing line.

Nice storm over Bath at the moment also tracking N/NE.

Only thing stopping me from travelling is the speed these storms are moving and the fact they aren't very photogenic with the lightning being frequently high-based. It's a different story should they still be around after dusk!

The lightning rates on that Dorset/Wilts storm are insane, must be similar to the Bournemouth storm last year. Just shows that when conditions are right even this country can put on a good show.

Perhaps I was too hasty again and may clip the edge of something. First strike just South of Bristol associated with that cell heading roughly along the M5. Fingers crossed...

the dorset/south wilts storm shows signs of splitting, with a new core near Salisbury....I can hear almost constant distant booming from that storm

nice outflow and ppn fan from this wilts storm....still elevated here, but it's got that nice triangular ppn fan ahead of the main core(s)......eastern core might now be starting to route in the boundary layer and could become supercellular....one to watch with interest..........The strongest core is tracking 10-15 miles to my east within the hour...might just jump in my van onto the Marlborough downs

Stood in Westbury watching a beauty of a storm cluster moving NNE over the West Wiltshire area. Constant angry thunder for over half an hour and lots of IC lightning.

This would have been exceptional at night.

I'm so jealous...been baked in a Bain Marie this week and barely a drop of rain to show for it.

If that SW cell does split and especially if it shifts more E/NE then it could very easily turn super cellular.
