I think we are in the sweet spot today. I'm supposed to be on Rutland water later. Could be interesting

might set the camera up now then, just incase there is a chance of a storm here, i have not had much luck in photographing lightening as yet

Lots of rumbles here now, thinking they must all be from intra cloud lightning.

Storm passing just to west of here (Poole, Dorset) but apart from grey skies, nothing heard here. Clear skies following, taking ages though.

White Horse Leasure Centre in east Abingdon. Constant rumbling but only 3 or 4 real loud ones so far.

The day my car is in for a service.... I could have easily head across between Bath and Swindon as that looks to be in the firing line at the moment...

Well the models are totally wrong this morning. However I doubt we will get anything once again but it seems there's lucky people elsewhere once again.

Looks as though we may be too far West

The solar output is down to 21w/m2 - that is what you get around half hour before sunset!

The Lightning rate from the cluster of cells towards the SW is mental, no wonder people are hearing continual thunder.

Clear line of thunderstorms emerging now.

Yep looks to be a good spot - developing very nicely to the South just a shame I cannot be further East today. Going to be a case of missing it by only 30-50 miles.

My initial thoughts are that judging by the pattern of storm development sso far, the MetO have perhaps been hasty in their  warning adjustments. I think the initial warning area they had was pretty much spot on, albeit requiring extension further SW.

I really can't see how storms are likely to form much further east of the current line. Here (now inside warning area) the sky is clear/hazy with a strong easterly breeze.
