It's going to be close for my area tonight. I fear I might just be that little bit too far west but we'll see. In the past I've thought that in these situations then all of a sudden we've seen rapid development down near Hereford or somewhere and it's game on.

Really fancy the chances for anyone east of Birmingham...East Midlands looking good!

Good afternoon Dami! Im all well thanks you! Hows you been? Thats odd it seems to be working for me? though i mostly use there android app now. Storms seem to be making great progress through bay of biscay and into france, looks like they could make it into the channel in the next couple of hours.... Though we have seen them side step past us at this point before but lets just keep our fingers crossed for now eh! :D

Not so bad, been melting the last couple of days. Hoping we may see something tomorrow.

Not expecting much here in Norwich, we seem to be missing everything this year.

Still oppressively hot and humid and clear except for a few high-level wispy bits and peices.

This is the view looking WSW from the window by my desk at work.

Oppressively hot and humid here, certainly feels ripe for a storm.

Yep same here! 30.6 on garden thermometer still sunny, just seeing first wisps of haze combined with some interesting low level cloud!

26.8C here with 17C dewpoints....certainly 'juicy' out there with increasing mid-level cloud spilling up from the south

30.6 here (Salisbury) with 18 dewpoint. Only just started to see the cloud here

There's lightning ENE of Weymouth, that cloud you can see might have something to do with it

Thunder heard in Wareham. I'm on my way back there, stuck in traffic at the moment.

That will be all the tourists on Weymouth & Swanage beaches.

LOL

If there isn't a storm in my immediate area between now and midday Saturday I will be amazed.

Stormy skies to the SE of here (so Torbay and beyond). Just rain by the looks of it but certainly looks a lot more threatening. Shame I can't take a picture as it really does look lovely.

You'd imagine there will be some more fun and games for those further to the east before too long!:)

Taking the scenic route, as there's been an accident.

Not sure if I just heard thunder but this is the sky to the south west.

I was practically under that white bit, very little rain hitting the ground, just a few convective drops as it's falling through the layer of warm, dry air.

Thinking of traversing the A3 Hampshire area maybe Butser Hill - there's a ripe old storm out in the channel with 'Guildford & London' written all over it!

Skies looking dicey at the cricket

I'm just a few miles from the Rose Bowl and it's completely clouded over.  No lightning in the immediate area but definitely rain on the way at least.

I remember Ian Ferguson said on Points West last night how little rain would actually reach the ground until later tonight when the lower levels moisten up a bit, then could get some quite intense downpours.

The dry layer illustrated well on the forecast Skew-T for Weymouth, sub-zero dew points before you even reach the 800hpa level...
