A bunch of posts have been removed, as there's really no need for childish bickering about cloud photos in here. Can we get back on topic now please.

Only here would we have a sky and humidity like this with no thunder as a result...

yes chaps, similar skies here, a real pot-pourri of unstable looking skies, there is some heavy bursts of rainfall in amongst some elevated convection moving through the west country, so one never knows :)

This really is a 'Scilly' plume

Not even worthy of being called a plume more likely to eat a plum to be honest.

Looks to be something a bit more organised in the channel now, with some stronger returns in the last few scans. Might be a suprise due yet. Sam

A pretty big let down this evening for thundery weather after what the forecasts were showing a few days ago!:nonono:

Basically got to hope now that the low for Friday and Saturday doesn't downgrade either as that would just add to the disappointment.

Tonight was looking progressively less and less likely to deliver since a few days ago. My interest now lies in the coming week and what happens to these Lows in the Atlantic. there are increasing hints of further plume possibilities before the summer comes to close :)

For now though, back to the waiting game.

It's about 10 mins away from here. I did a big garden tidy up today, so some moderate rain would be very welcome!

So, some activity in the channel, and just off south coast, now accuweather rain radar has the showers moving North'ish (albeit very casually) and on rain alarm, it's moving slightly more of a north east direction.. Not sure which to trust, can't seem to load netweather rain radar to corroborate...?

Absolutely nothing overnight then, not even one rumble of thunder!

Hope this wind for Friday and Saturday makes up for this utter epic failure of a so called thundery spell.

Roll on Autumn and Winter for gales and windy weather I say.

checked the latest sat image

nasty looking swirl already to the south-west approaches

i think this one could pack a punch

latest warning from met office, increased winds slightly, to 60mph on very exposed coastlines

Looks like convection occurring over our way. Estofex seems to be going with slight risk but I think theirs is a rather isolated outlook

When?
