Looks like the CAP is eroding to the west of Durham now - no sferics yet but unless it's a radar glitch there's something happening at least..

I am just in total awe at the phenomenal rate these thunderheads are exploding. Bit frustrating the skies here are as crystal as can be, but just to my North the rate of CB development is just eye watering.

Crazy convection over the last hour, lucky for some towards the wash! This was my view around 3pm to my SE from a cell over Stoke

Some very nice towers popping up as I was driving up the a12. I think at least some of us over this side of the country might get lucky - beautiful structure of nothing else! I do love a bit of surprise convection!

The Storm to my S is just incredible especially across Ramsey, Chatteris in the fens. I imagine Suffolk, Norfolk is next to be hit this evening from these monster storms.

Where's a good place to find cz maps? I usually use the NetWX models.

gonna stay put for a while and see if it's at all possible something can come to me for once. Used far too much fuel in the last 48 hours and so far nothing :-/

Someone remind me to never work again on a storm day like this :wallbash:

not heard a single rumble and there's a storm producing 120 strikes per min literally miles away!! I'd have been on it now had I have booked it off!!

Now my house in n Spalding is being slammed too!! Could not make this up!

Just knew this would happen!!

The plan now is to make sure I never have to work again on a convective event. I don't know how I'm gonna do it but I'm done with missing big storms! It's just not on !
