I'm at Cannon Street and what I'm seeing is way way off to the WNW of St Pauls, so as a guess I would say Oxfordshire way maybe?

Nothing immediately apparent on satellite or radar so perhaps it's just fair weather Cu...but looking increasingly like a robust Cb

See photo (very hazy!)...zoom in past the spire. Extremely far away but increasingly Cb looking IMO.

Nothing but bright blue skies in all directions here atm

Crikey - be careful. Take a photo of it like I did last year.

Judging by the sferic activity showing on Blitzortung it appears to me a CZ is forming (hence eroding the cap)

it was a radar glitch.....please tell me you haven't abandoned it?....if you have, it will go down as the NW 2016 Epic Fail

I did, but I was also behind it trying to catch up and with the traffic round here it just wasn't worth it, not sure if I can exclude myself from the no storms club with that one rumble lol?

Chesterfield storm seems to have lost it's electricity.  Looks great from Barsley

Having a little look back at the radar over the last hour or so and I have to laugh really at how storms have missed my hometown again, I wonder if it's just bad luck or maybe down to something else?

Chezzie storm weakening but still thundering away happily. Not surprised to read reports of large hail from the cell earlier, judging by the deep pink radar echoes a bit ago.

Friends of mine reporting marble size hail in Chesterfield.

Waiting patiently to see if anything makes it to Lincolnshire

You can't post here that you've got golf ball sized hail and not post pictures. Lol

If that was here, I would flood the page with pics and videos.

a big fail here, to far east , just one rumble heard on my way into work, thought it was a  passing lorry over the drone of the traffic, then realised it was thunder,  seems all the storms always go up the irish sea in these west based plume events recently

pathetic thundery spell for most of the populated areas of  north west england

Count yourself lucky, not even a rumble here!

Cell to my south, around Huntingdon producing a lot of lightning. Hoping cell around Wellingborough strengthens as heading my way.  Just heard first rumble of thunder.

I can see anvils way way off in the distance to the north. The latest satellite updates don't show anything close, so I can only assume these are the cells in the east midlands, but surely that'd be too far away to see from here.

Anyone else noticed the latest radar output (1720) appears to show the cell between northampton and cambridge has taken on a hook echo appearance?

Don't often see values like that. I think it will be a very interesting few hours.
