That cell in the Welsh border is heading ENE. Keep an eye on this one, as its heading into an area with explosive CAPE and wind shear to boot.

I know - just hoping something kicks off again, it doesn't seem right everything has just died a death lol

The cap obviously has not broken yet and there was a chance that could happen as was forecast lets hope something happens in the next hour or so, if not cannot see anything happening which would be very disappointing still warm here at 24c

From office in Shrewsbury I can see a developing cell to the north east (on next radar runs look for that towards stoke)

To the south getting darker, but the cell that's developed might slide south and head towards Telford. Looks impressive.

Fingers crossed

Now 30°c here - cap not broken but clouds bubbling up all over. Also some small signs of very weak AcCas in the distance.

feels like there's plenty of energy on offer yet

Its dieing off to the south, last few radar runs its flattened out and lost the intensity, while shower towards stoke is growing. Never mind!

going to be a disappointing end to this hot spell around here i think, just out of the firing line for any storms, cant wait to see any pics from people who do manage to get a storm or 2

Does anyone wish to hazard a guess as to where the best storms will be this afternoon/evening if any?

Yeah it doesn't make sense to me - huge heat, patches of instability, moist airmass. I don't know where the storms are likely to be but I'd be surprised if there weren't any this evening somewhere

Edit - the odd Sferic popping up here and there..

I'm really bewildered...nowhere currently seeing any sort of activity I'd have at least expected the odd isolated storm to break out at least somewhere....meanwhile 100 miles out in the North Sea it's a completely different picture!

In the space of 5 minutes we have gone from nothing to a really quite active stoke cell, a sferic elsewhere and the radar really pepping up!

Yeah just watching that now.  And also with Staffordshire's observations of towers going up now north of Leeds it looks like convection may be starting again.
