Looks to me Euro 4 is close. If it stays like this, we can kiss goodbye to anything happening here now.

Can see the top of the storm over the Welsh coast by Aber looks a bruiser! Few spots of rain about 10 min ago, wonder if telford will have a storm on the same level as the one we had 22 august last year?

No rain yet, still not gone below 20C. Those storms seem to just be scudding up the Irish sea rather than moving east, only places that will get hit  from that are Lleyn, west Cumbria, Galloway and the Isle of Man.

Maybe later this morning is our chance?

Absolutely torrential around Ravenglass, I would not be surprised if there wasn't some decent hail under that.

I was woken up at 3:30 by an almighty clap of thunder. There has been the odd rumble ever since with a few showers. Just got up and can see and hear a beast of a storm out over the Llyn Peninsula. Some good CG seen. Not sure which way it's heading... North East possibly.

Me too. I was planning on chasing overnight and if I had I may have got as far as N Wales or Cumbria... double sigh. I have saved my petrol and energy though in the hope some decent storms develop across a broader swathe of England later.

Still, good for those who are seeing and have seen something. A whole day under this thundery plume so still plenty of time for something to kick off.

I suppose you could have come via Crewe and we could have had a journey up the M6 (or along the A55 to Anglesey).....would have been worth it but nevermind, I thought it may actually be a bit more widespread than it has been!

Just got the NW Storm App to work and it looks like a wall of storms are incoming out of the Irish Sea & Cardigan Bay. Tin hats on!! ....( or rather not.) :shok:

Any webcams from the top of Blackpool tower? Quite a view looking out over the storm area.

Just got back off prom in South Shore since 3am! Some good bolts far off in distance, never in right place for camera!

Storms in Irish Sea moving to Cumbria, some still over Wales hoping they come my way.

No webcam on tower, sorry.

That went from light shower to full on thunderstorm in 15 mins. Just gives an idea of how explosive things are up there.

It's high level so no lightning seen... just thunder heard. Also some haul at the moment
