That's the plan! Have a tank of fuel and a pillow, but need clean pants just in case of lightning strike

Or is that in case Cambourne becomes moist?

Dogs look after themselves in this kind of weather. My next door neighbour's Jack Russell is usually insanely barking at passing traffic and people. He's crashed in the garage at the moment and has been all day! A wet-shirt does wonders for your pup if they are really uncomfortable. Soak the shirt and slip their head/neck through the head hole and put their front legs through the armholes. You can keep it wet then. Or just gently hose them if they like that.

Does he/she like storms? My Border Collie was my storm watching companion...I'm going to bring up out next pup(s) to be the same.

Yeah Spikecollie, i've got a cold damp towel over him at the mo. He's really old and i worry. He doesn't bat an eyelid when there are storms. Good old companion :D

Small 'jellyfish' accas clouds to the south here, looks like things are trying to build.

Loaded gun scenario there convective. Saw pretty much the same thing both on 3rd July and 16th July last year.

I can tell you that these have been known predecessors to some proper humdingers!!

He'll be fine! My Border Collie who died last August had congestive heart failure, but he resisted the indignity of wet towels and showers to the end, and I just let him do what he wanted to do. Most of what he did was totally contrary to the vet. advice, like wanting to play ball in over 30c - but that was what kept him happy.

Regarding storms, Spike would watch with me. Sit by my side, inside or outside and pan his head to the lightning. He did get excited by loud thunder at times, and that was problematic if we were outside in the middle of the night and were trying not to wake the neighbours. We camped in Dordogne one summer and had an incredible night of storms - all the dogs around the valley started howling and Spike joined in. We went to bed in the tent, but the storm woke us only to realise that there was no Spike in the tent! We went out to search and found him sitting by a caravan and looking up at the sky to get a better view of the lightning!!!

Some heavier showers now showing up in the south west. Still super warm here but much more humid with quite a bit of cloud.

Looking at the Weather Radar this is moving north up the Irish Sea?? Whats the prospect of this moving over the North of the UK?

sferics now increasing west of Isles of Scilly

Well, end of my second day in the sweatbox without seeing a single cloud. Theres a very slight chance of a storm/shower tomorrow for my area according to the forecast, although I doubt I'll see anything as I'm right on the line between slight and no risk. I just want this blasted heat to end but the SE looks set to suffer for one more day. Debating taking the car to work tomorrow (air con).

Good luck to everyone in the zone for tonight/tomorrow.
