Notable thunderstorms on this day in history

we all like to reminisce about a classic storm, so I though it would be interesting to know about the anniversary of significant storm events from the past.

I would struggle to remember the year of classic thunderstorms let alone a day..but I will throw into the hat June 15 - July 31 2010 when I lived in Edmonton Canada that was an incredible 6 weeks stormy period of severe storms almost everyday with quite a few tornado warnings thrown into the pot.
