Lol, the Ireland forum shoots up during snow. Pages filled in minutes, and then after that... umm, well nothing much to say other than completely empty.

A lot of excitement on here in winter, usually for 3cm of snow over a 3 month period. :D

Next weekend and probably beyond is likely to see an NW-SE split

The peak of the heat this week should see temps around 28c

One hot day, a few warm says, then back to average, typical early September.

Won't be a great view for long. They're building HS2 right along the current railway line, complete with 20ft concrete wall :(

I wouldn't even call it a great view as it is - seems rather typical of English countryside. A few fields given over to agriculture, with railway lines and motorways always in close proximity.

HS2 probably won't happen Nick. This is not France or Germany where they actually build things and get on with stuff. This is the UK, where NIMBYs rule and consultations are endless. Look at the Heathrow 3rd runway saga, ongoing for decades and no closer to a decision.

Wrong thread nick, but I know a few friends that live in a place called Water Orton and that damn train will wipe out the whole village  not good!!!

Tomorrow morning will start very humid across the board with 'lows' widely between 17c and 18c quite a lot of mist and fog around as well

Not quite record breaking that is 21.7c in St Jame's Park, Central London set way back on 5th September 1949

September seems to be shaping up as expected though I think there will be a good deal more warm dry weather for England and Wales before the month is out. Storm tracks will be well north of their usual positions owing to the unusual warmth of sub-arctic waters but Scotland (particularly the west) will probably be dominated by wet and windy conditions during September, as suggested by the above outlook!

Not sure why you quoted my post Ian, or maybe I am not understanding your point, but I was only referring to 'early September' and not the month as a whole.

Tree outside garden very yellow. Entire tree front and back is yellow. Very early for this, right? It would usually turn yellow early-October. I don't think its dehydration, while we've had a very dry Spring, Summer hasn't been too dry and really average if im being honest.

It's not dehydration. Trees on the turn here. Happens the same time every year, yet you still get some people refuting this. It's just the same as budding starting in early March which I've seen plenty of times.

I agree though, some trees won't start to turn until October...usually the oaks around here.

But you live in Darlington? Its no good for you!

Unless of course , the extended summer, that the south often gets in early autumn , is persuading you to move down here, so you can join in the fun.

Come on down.:D

Never mind SS , maybe sometime in the future, the charts and forecasts you often post, will be for your back yard, and not several hundred miles further north.:)

Trainspotters would pay a fortune for a room like that.  Lol.
