Convective Storm/Discussion thread - 11/06/16 onwards

Still seeing the odd bright flash outside my east facing bedroom window. New cells firing across Sussex/Kent and growing in intensity.

Might have to get some shut eye soon and set an alarm for around 2 for a status update.

It actually got a lot closer than I thought it would and London and parts of the South East saw something at least, but again, these events seem to favour Benelux and the North Sea (the models got it right) One of these days;)

Look at the amount over the SE quadrant! Now I see why I was awoken so many times! Look at that one that exited NE Scotland lol, what a system that must've been!

Great find buddy, bookmarked this one straight away.

A real humdinger!  :D

Looks to me like a multi-cell cluster is beginning to organise over the Channel/N France and could be a shot at an MCS...running the radar back and forth it does appear to have an increasingly northern shunt to it.

That cell Tunbridge Wells way has my name on it!

Watching it from the bedroom window at the top of Cuxton... Cracking view of flashes and distant thunder.

Had a couple of flashes and some rumbles earlier...a bit too far away...I think the forecasts got the track of these bang on although not the intensity...not exactly biblical...good luck all...

Many flashes and rumbles on the approach to SE London and the electrical activity died a death over this area.Quite a nice 10 minute display above me,but far from a classic.

Looking at the radar returns it seems that lightning is decreasing in all areas at this moment in time.

Sounds like a very close strike. We got that years ago when a tree in the garden 5 feet from the bedroom window was struck.

There was about a dozen simultaneous bolts south of Tunbridge Wells about a minute ago according to lightning maps, and then another six or so all at once.

We are surrounded by pylons so I'm guessing one of those must have been struck??
