The centre of the low pressure must be right near here as the eastern side is moving north, while the western is moving south. The whole lot will probably pull south as the low sinks south.

Centre of the Low is currently over mid-wales - can be clearly seen on radar as having "nothing" in it

Things around here should move slowly north to north-west then if that's the case which is only a good thing.

Well there's defo a centre of a "low" over mid-wales via standard precip radar - but looking at sat 24 - it looks a bit more complicated than that - and another possible main low centre - which I think from the current lows shown on BBC maps would make more sense - there is a low centre positioned over the Isle Of Man right now - so a bit of a complicated mish mash lol

Same here, WSW sky looks really solid now towards those cells.

I'm listening out for thunder, but the Sferics seem have died down considerably, even though the precip is still torrential.

When we receive the sunshine and shower setup, this always happens... (Kinda)

They've been pulsing up and down all day.  I'm sure they will pick up again soon.

Yes, a cell SE to me has flared up over the last 20minutes, a good 5 miles closer this time.

Sky to the south is now darkening.

That's the one just to my SE. Looks impressive.

Well as the showers/storms approach Derby they have become showers.....

It is no wonder I go and chase storms rather than wait for them to come to me :D

I think the yellow warning for southern coastal counties was to warn people it would be a dry and sunny afternoon.  phil_03.gif

All coming from this lot, just to the West of Salisbury.

Or 'explosive' elevated stratus clouds with embedded murk. Risk matrix has reasonable likelihood of boredom, with low impacts on one's sanity.

The sky the south and SE looks really dark. Can see areas of evaporation trails and it seems to be building this way. Slowly going quite dark now too.

It's still pretty much lightningless though.

Warnings have been spot on with the two main areas of showers exactly where predicted along the convergence lines. Cell to the south of Warminster was spitting out lightning every 10 seconds or so for about 15 minutes but moving away now
