Some very beefy clouds right now but also good sunny spells so a very ideal combination here. Quite a lot of scud cloud visible too. Have a feeling I may be a little too far south today though but looks like everything will be pivoting around this region so a chance lingering all day. :)

Day 1 Convective Outlook

VALID 06:00 UTC Tue 14 Jun 2016 - 05:59 UTC Wed 15 Jun 2016

ISSUED 11:15 UTC Tue 14 Jun 2016

ISSUED BY: Dan

UPDATE 11:15 UTC Minor adjustments made to SLGT based on latest guidance. Still potential for parts of Ireland to be upgraded to a SLGT, but extensive cloud cover here so far today raises uncertainty as to how much lightning may occur. Most of the activity today will likely be focussed along a sharpening convergence zone from N Wales - Midlands - northern East Anglia where a few funnels or a weak tornado will be possible

The sun is breaking out here. I am hoping the convergence zone is overhead today. Lots of sferics breaking out across Wales and West Midlands but shower motion is so slow it is hard to gauge which direction they are moving.

Clouds turning darker here with distinct rain shafts moving across the southern sky, hoping for something torrential later. :)

I got towering grey cumulous right above me, and getting blacker with each passing minute. Hard to take a pic as I'm inside and can't get a good angle from the window! Meanwhile, the sun is still popping out every now and then through the break in the clouds.

Looking at the predictions/charts I think the thunderstorms will be running just to my south today.

Suns gone in now and its got very dark suddenly. A lot of scud to my immediate west, moving very rapidly north.

All in all looks better for potential here. Deeper bases here in Norwich but lathargic at the moment. Waiting for some stronger updrafts and cell growth nearby currently.

Looks like parts of north North Wales could see some flooding issues, a lot of slow-moving heavy downpours there in last few hours.

Very slow moving storms up this way, been a couple on the edge of town but refuse to move over us, some places must have had a lot of rain in the last few hours.
