KABOOM here we go again...

Other than the odd rumble and heavy rain nothing to get too excited about and not a lot to follow either

A few flashes and shotgun thunder here. Torrential rain for last 15mins too, just easing now.

I have got asperger syndrome autism and weather is my thing but wanted a thunderstorm over here in warminster to night :girl_devil:

Hello tomdewey,

It's our thing too... Welcome aboard.

I'm afraid it's not looking good for you this evening. I'm further east than you (just south of Salisbury) and we just have light rain at the moment. It looks like heavier rain is coming up from the South West, but I doubt it'll get electrical for me either.

Yesterday evening, I watched all the excitement slide past to my east and missed out by a few miles. All very frustrating, but we'll get our turn soon enough.

No thunder in this part of SE London, but streets are awash again with fast flowing water.Large convective raindrops coming down at a right old pace.

No.  AFAIK, the risk extends through until later this evening.

I'd say probably. Kent looks best for anything decently thundery. Of course am happy to be surprised like yesterday!

Couple of reasonable cells in East Anglia - one west of Lakenheath, the other south of Brandon.

Heavy rain for a couple of hours so didn't think anything would develop here. However, a friend in Sevenoaks just told me he had a huge storm about 30 mins ago and just as I read his message I heard thunder. It's here! :)

2 bright flashes and LOUD thunder here in Cuxton!

Nice! I've heard a few faint rumbles since but activity seems to have wained now so assumed it died just as it got here. I haven't checked the radar recently, perhaps it just skimmed us. Still raining but intensity dropping rapidly.

One rather close flash and rumble from this batch of convective rainfall in SE London.

Can I call it thundery rain if I hear one rumble? ;-)

Just checked radar. Looks like it did just skim us and passed to the east. Also looks like its died. However, there is another lot just leaving france now. The rain here has pretty much stopped and its getting brighter, so maybe if those cells make it here there may yet be some energy left to keep them going.

Good to hear about all you peeps getting storms :D Im not jealous at all! Circumstances have been preventing me taking a drive unfortunately so its been armchair chasing for me. This thread has been fun to keep up with though. Shame theres not more pics but then theres rarely much to see with plume storms (unless you get the leading edge of the motherlode!)

Just wondering if anyone can explain why so few sferics are being picked up on our shores atm? Some pretty intense echos there, esp N & NW of London but very little lightning being detected? Lots of IC perhaps, or just maybe our electrical activity is lost to the detectors being as they are getting swamped by the BeNeLux supercellular groundhog day.

To think the southeast has had more rain last night than I've had all month is really quite incredible and unusual. Looked like a real show for some, just a shame it was confined to the southeast corner. I hope London has sorted itself out before I go there tomorrow.

Seems to be getting a bit more today, so fingers crossed for you.
