Looked out office window to the south (facing channel) and it would appear doomsday is on the way. 

No lightning or thunder as of yet....

Plenty of very strong radar echoes heading towards the SE now, definitely more torrential rain to come. Not at all sure about thunder and lightning though apart from a few embedded storms perhaps?

for the south west?...in a word, no..............a line from Poole/Bournemouth to The Wash eastwards, quite possibly

Back to 10/10 cloud cover, not very humid imo. I would happily trade a week of overnight storms for just one day of blue skies and sunshine. It's just so damned depressing :nonono:
