Plenty of cars flooded out, manhole covers etc all gone here too. I'm sure it was just as bad here. Everyone I have spoken to has never seen anything near as bad as last night. What were the rainfall accumulations from last weeks storm over you? Here must have been around ~75mm.

~76mm dumped in half an hour. Many here though their number was up..

Not sure if you mean here or over your way last week. I'm talking over a few hours. Take a look at the accumulation charts Mapantz posted last night. Still, a severe event on all accounts. Pictures on their way.

Storm is passing but I've just had another decent crack of thunder.

The rain, while torrential, not extreme like some have had this past week. It was enough to cause the roads to flow like rivers though! I hear some sirens too, usually coop floods due to carpark running straight in to the back door. lol

10.4mm total, 7mm in around 20 mins.

Some deep rumbles coming from that storm in Bristol Channel now. Can't see any lightning... but thunder once every 30 seconds or so.

I'm sure someone on the other side of the Channel is having a better view than us. It seems quite slow moving, and I can see more Cb's forming to the East.

got quite a bit cooler and windier up here now - suspect that storm over the channel is sucking all the energy out of the atmosphere - that'll be about it for the day here me thinks now

Thunder has stopped here now the shower has weakened, think that's it today folks. :(

New cell now developing to the north, maybe it's not over yet...

Too many downdrafts going on!

That shower has completely died out but more cells are developing behind, excitement decreasing now, seems to be too many downdrafts killing the updrafts...

Just had a little storm pass over, raining so hard you couldn't see out the window, distant rumbles turning into peeling thunder, some quite bright flashes that my oh said he saw over the back of our house, seems to be brightening up again no....heart rate returning to normal *touches wood*

Plenty of thunder out of the cells just to the West of here - constantly back building so some places just west of Frome will be getting a lot of rain

Can you tell I'm not in Godalming? I'm up in Leamington and now there are storms around North London and in the central South - two of the places I was at earlier where the weather was cloudy and bland.

so hoping in vain for a storm somewhere in the midlands but looks like this is the one day of the week they won't be having them. Couldn't make it up

Took these from work in Worthing.

it was wet. Hasn't rained this heavy since Noah's ark

loads of lightning and thunder, storm must have been a couple of miles away at the most.

is there anymore on the way? Very dark to the north/north west.

New torrential downpour developed to the NNE, though no thunder as of yet. :)

Thunder! :D

Loud rumble of thunder just then! :D

Lightning here again this evening. Turning dark from the same direction, looks like another cell has formed behind. :)
