Waiting to see what happens again today! Had our first proper storm down in this part of the South Hams (Kingsbridge area) yesterday which was nice, a couple of very close strikes too. Been a very long time since we have had anything like it I can tell you!:)

Some of the villages like South Pool and Frogmore had some quite nasty flash flooding. I did manage to get a fairly nice shot yesterday; the heaviest rain really didn't shift a great deal for a good couple of hours. So Armageddon in one spot and pretty nice weather a couple of miles away as you can see from my pic!

Was watching that thunderstorm closely, looked very intense!

Just had a torrential downpour here! :D

Somerset is getting going once again, this seems very much like a carbon copy to yesterday, bring it on! But, surprised that there hasn't been any lightning yet.

Total cloud cover here, no sign of the sun, convection is occurring under the greyness however.

As someone who is right underneath it I think you may be overstating it a bit !

Sun's been out here on and off all day, actually turning out to be a nice day.

In the warning zones again today, but as previous times - expecting nothing

Really? Looked like a cracker on radar, with lots of strikes.

Meanwhile in london (crickets). Still have the broken (but mainly overcast) cloudy skies here. Can't see anything happening today. This seems like a direct repeat of yesterday to me where there was potential but things just never got going.

To be honest it was fairly sporadic and nothing like some of the storms other areas have seen this week and I have seen better down here already this year. Musn't grumble though, I was just pleased to eventually get something.

Hmm, I think you were in a quiet area of the thunderstorm, it was very active.

Ah ok. Yeah true, don't grumble! I'll gladly swap you my cloudy skies for that storm! :D

I think yesterday has sated my desire for storms for a while as the clear up is underway. In town a house was struck, Waitrose was struck, two schools and numerous businesses were flooded and a methane producing plant was struck.Roads were awash and travel chaos ensued. Cue lots of people glaring at me today as, of course, I'd been looking forward to a decent storm. Be careful what you wish for, guys!

Looks like we may have a quieter day here as there's been an obvious push south and east as far as the set up goes.

Having said that, plenty of convection around still...so you never know.

For those further south..it's all looking good if rather slow moving. From our experience this week..you may end up having to go to the storm rather than waiting for it to come to you! Yesterday's storm here stuck over Brierley Hill like a limpet on a rock!

In sum, this evening was so extreme I would not be surprised If I ever saw such an event again in this country in my life time. So localised but incredibly intense here. A lot of clearing up to be done tomorrow on the roads, pavements, gardens and some properties.

Doesn't look too bad to be honest, CDF.  Normal flash flooding you get from a storm.   Was worse here last Wednesday, when whole cars were submerged, manhole covers blown open, roads cracked, homes flooded, and people running for their lives.  You could have taken a canoe out and sailed quite a bit down the road it was that bad.

I'm on route to Torquay (Near You), on route there there is plenty of convection, one cloud looking like a nuclear bomb that's gone off!

The local woodland and nature reserve took a battering from last nights floods. Destruction in places. Pictures to come later today. Incredible scenes.

Yes, what went on last night was nothing short of phenomenal. Hoping to question some experts later on regarding the fundamental cause of such backbuilding that was seen yesterday.

The local nature reserve looks like a tsunami has ripped through it. :(
