Most definitely is, very faint rumble in the distance the second the map showed a closer strike then the rest. I was hearing them from that distance from across the wash easily yesterday aswell.

How do you know how many miles away the strike was? :-)

As I said yesterday  it is virtually impossible to hear thunder from that  distance.

I was hearing thunder from that distance easily on Tuesday.

It's just a madly weird day out there. I have no power AGAIN. I used to love t-storms but I'm getting fed up of this!!! Not really, but it is getting annoying...

Lots of pulse type cells in France today - hope my leaky roof has been fixed by my builder !

Ok well  that's unusual to hear it. :-) I recommend using an AM radio to hear strikes in  Real time,  that's always fun. You will learn to  distinguish how close strikes are and  sometimes their type.

Good spot! No location under your name, where are you?

Swear London has a storm shield this week, anything heading this way just evaporates, one last day tomorrow of storms which should in theory deliver around here.

Sutton Courtenay nr didcot thanks Nick

Looks like another angle of the funnel aqbadger spotted... This dropped from the northern edge of the cell to the west of Reading about 15 mins ago... Observed from Didcot-looks like a pokey little cell and is back building nicely over oxford...

well i have been looking at that cell to my south for the past hour or so and it seems to be quite static as it moves slowly along the A17 from Boston to Sleaford, what is interesting its lack of movement is causing it to build. we still have rumbles but the storm has not as yet let loose.

No, you're right. I'm on that line (is it a CZ maybe?).We've had a couple of hefty showers, but very localised. Apparently there was a t/storm down the road, but it's missed us. However, it's gone dark and I'm looking at the radar and looks like another big shower imminent. Maye this one will have some sferics

Mental! I'm 6 miles from Didcot, and all I got is a shower and I managed to miss that. Observed some fantastic towers on the Chiltern side of the Thames from here but unfortunately was on a bus so couldnt take a photo
