has there actually been any notable thundery activity in that rain band across chesire , the way the bbc had those dancing lighntning graphics , (yet again) filckering away on their forcast across south lancs , cheshire, north wales, you would think there would be a decent storm now,   this is fifth day on the trot a big fail as far as thunder is forecast for the NW,

for this so called week of thundery showers and sunny spells its been grey overcast clagg and a spells of drizzle and occassional moderate/ heavyish rain all the way, today there is a bit of an impovement this afernnoon and slighty resembles one of those heavy showers and sunny spells days,  off to the gym now, nowt going to happen here

There was quite a bit of lightning and a lot of heavy rain around Cheshire Oaks about 2 hours ago. Been no lightning since.

Hold the front page - distant rumble of thunder from a small cell close to Fakenham. That makes 2 rumbles of thunder this year!!!

I'm in Hunstanton, no more then 15 miles from the closest thunder, been constant faint rumbles for about an hour now,  chucked it down on and off aswell. Bit annoyed as it hasn't made much progress any closer.

Och well...After a promising start, we've had absolutely nothing barring increasing sunshine and rather too much humidity...

Cheshire shower seems to be weakening now.

Let's see if anything else can build  before the sun sets. Sun is out again now.

Any idea which way storm is going between leciester and lincoln

Hello again Steph! I think most storms have a W-E motion with some going SW-NE :)

It stayed pretty much dry in the entire warning zone down here today.
The next chance for any meaningful rain will be tomorrow morning, as this area circulates around:

Ring side seat earlier on....Glad to say a bit spoiled for choice

one cap from before and one of the cells just over town

Nice cap, Arnie. There was also CG around Edgbaston, not sure if you got that one too? Good day today. Shame was stuck at work, but working in high rise gives great views all around. Just no chance to record though.

I was stuck in work in Llay, nothing to speak of there just a couple of rumbles.

I saw a video of the river on New Road.

Just goes to show how localised some of this weather is.

I can see that from here. Looking at the radar it looks like it weakening.

Just as I say that it intensifies again.
