met office already issued warmings for tomorrow but it currently has that much uncertainty in it that I wouldn't give it much attention at the moment

Gordon, you really need to experience these thunderstorms to reduce your fear, as long as you are away from windows, there's nothing to be scared of!

Indeed, try to be optimistic myself and hope for big dirty thunderstorms all over the Midlands, where no-one misses out.  Ones with big CG bolts dropping all around producing ground-shaking thunder. Think the Met Office are playing it down, to be honest. Could be looking at some severe storms over next day or two.

Here's hoping, Gordon.

Torrential rain in Manchester, no thunder yet. All my gutters were overflowing, even the good ones. I went out to clear the gutter along the garage and got soaked. An inch of standing water on the lawn.

Love this, but why does all these big thunderstorms have to happen inland, here's hope this week we get some HUMDINGERS from the west!

Not cursed in my book, I somehow cannot understand how a word said can determine what chances there are, it can't! Gordon, did you see my post?

If this film of mid-high level crap would clear things would have progressed quite nicely already. Even with it though, there are suddenly signs of convection kicking off here and other areas. Very humid and quite warm....

Yes, a developing downpour overhead. :)

You just had lightning. Sun poking through here now with clouds building, could be interesting here.
