We've had some thunder and a few distant lightning flashes, along with a couple of heavy downpours.

Had torrential rain and some loud thunder earlier. Otherwise a bit of a bland, cool day.

I can imagine the river Darent has flooded somewhere. There are flood warnings issued.

seems to have calmed down now, too late for the BBQ though!!

still a few rumbles of thunder around.

Humid indoors though, or that could be because i have the oven on.

Breezy though.

Well I went to a festival in Sutton today, the weather was okay with just a couple of light showers and some good sunny spells and it felt warm in light winds. The cloud has begun to thicken up now though.

Well, I know it's not going to last, but very pleasant in the sunny periods when the cloud breaks here in Cambridge...Praying that the High pressure teasing us in the Atlantic gets it's act together next week.... Will we get a hot spell in July?

S.O.S if anyone has seen summer and I mean a proper week long dry period with pleasant mid 20's heat, please send it on. The depression of wind rain and cloud boo. enjoyed the thunderstorms yes, but it has always been after a 3 to 4 day hot spell and even then it weren't that hot really. Not touched 30 yet anywhere in the country......

I need something to lift the depression of said double Euro dips.............

ex has promised me a day at beach with daughter but most of July is out hoping for something nice in August then before we know it its autumn.......

Can I join in the moaning? For the 29th June it's been cr*p!!! Like a cloudy, cool and windy autumnal day. In fact, it's been so windy the garden table and umbrella were both blown over this afternoon, despite the umbrella being down. The only positive thing to say was that the forecast rain that arrived this afternoon turned out to be a half hour of drizzle - not even enough to wet the roads.

And model output still showing no signs of a decent spell of settled summer weather arriving. :(

Rather poor, agreed @Blessed Weather

At this time of year you'd expect a lot better, I suppose there is a possibility the capital may not even reach 30C this summer there is plenty of time it must be said, but I'm not feeling it oddly, I just hate it being overcast.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
