I'm back in Wales for a few days for my Dad's 90th Birthday party (yesterday) and it was a lovely, warm, and often sunny day enabling us to enjoy Mum & Dad's gardens. But it looks like my location in Suffolk caught one of yesterday's heavy showers. A friend sent me this photo of Hadleigh High Street with water dangerously close to pouring in through the pub door. The cellar door is out on that pavement, so water must have got into the cellar. The beer will be even more watered down than normal!!

Well there is some sunshine here this morning, hopefully we can get some decent temperatures and maybe some hefty downpours later.

The sky here is completely filled with grey Atlantic grot, bits of drizzle around and not especially warm at 15C. Not pleasant at all.

Shocking weather ~  rain, cool and grey skies.

Whilst the majority in here are wishing for downpours, I am hoping this afternoon cheers up a bit and produces some good outdoor weather before going back to work tomorrow.

Argh this rain band is painful - it's moving so slow!

Just do one

Cool breeze, occasional showers and not much sun,if this is the start of the good old British summer it can go and do one.

Rained quite heavily here for an hour. Don't mind proper rain so much; it's drizzle and general dampness that's annoying. Trying to brighten up but still very cool at just 16C.

All I can do is sit here under a veil of high cloud watching those towers brew up to the east of here, just 40-50 miles away from the only area where there are thunderstorms at the moment.

Sun's finally out here, probably a bit late for anything stormy to develop.

Some pretty skies now with convection rapidly occurring in the sunshine, feels a lot warmer and more humid again this afternoon. Had some heavy showers but nothing thundery as yet.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
