Eastbourne cell looks like its hardly moving. Could be some flash flooding there

Got the Basingstoke storm in view from here in the first photo!

Starting to worry we're going to be too far west very soon. Need to see more development to our west if we still stand a chance. That trough is going to have finished coming through here very soon I think.

Looking superb for the east of Brum now.

Strangely not on the radar

Appologies if this is a stupid question but can storms still form behind the trough?

They can do, especially with a good amount of surface heating.

However, It seems behind this one there isnt much in the way of convergence, heat or even any cape .. Central England however looks like its about to explode.

Nom Nom Nom.

Had a quick nip out on the field, can see the large CB out towards northeast Manchester, backbuilding somewhat and pretty sure a few faint rumbles coming from it. Planes now hurriedly flying into the airport.

Storms can indeed, the air behind is just as humid and ripe for development, just need some sparks. The trough is just a more enhanced area for storm development.

Not yet!

Got a feeling it's going to kick off big time somewhere over that way though.

Although looking like it might not quite be done on this side yet. Starting up near Stourport again?

Well that has to be up there with the best lightning storms I have witnessed. Currently sat near Kettering having a rest. Raining steadily with occasional flashes and thunder. Will now head back to the M1 and follow the storms back closer to home.

This is what storms should be like!

Stayed where I was in Weedon and fantastic lightning and thunder directly overhead.

Looks like the Daventry storm is being swallowed by the biggie.

Decided to come out of the house and chase a small cell west of Shrewsbury. Not the most active but CG lightening seen. Slowly heading east towards town but decaying. Good a decent long range photo. Will stay out and see if it kick back off again
