Just had some big spot rain here , though its stopped again . Sky looks heavy and its looking quite dark in the direction of Wolverhampton .

I know! It's heading away from us though...we need it to start developing just a tad further south now...

..I think it could too.

Looks like may get some heavy rain. None electrified cells close by.

Aye, a quick glance at the radar one would like to think it won't be long before the 'dead zone' across the central Mids is no more.  Here's hoping.

Sky still looking unstable here, come on! Give it a few hours and it'll take off down here! :D

Yep I'm expecting central and southern Midlands to start joining in the fun in the coming hours, not quite as intense/widespread as further north though.

Any thoughts for up here in Merseyside? We have a warning but it's all gone quiet.

Certainly not out of the woods yet. Euro4 has a belter of a shower/storm at 8pm but I'd take that with a pinch of salt :D

The rain looks impressive, the lightning radar, less so currently.

I imagine the stuff in east Wales is our best bet as it drifts north.

I wouldn't be too excited, but mid-level instability is really kicking off here out of nowhere, the towers aren't exactly that high but some towering is starting in the Altocumulus cloud. Not sure how much of this will lead to anything but it might...

Ugh! It's so wonderfully oppressive out there! Very muggy and thundery, with dark skies and steady rainfall. Heavier stuff ganging up to the west...
