Got a capture of a strike from Tuesday's storm and wondering if I may have caught a glimpse of a funnel...

And another still - funnel not very clear but I'm sure it's too smooth to be scud

I see where you mean, I think it's to small though. Could have been in the process of forming or receding though. Shame it's a still, can't tell if it's rotating or not.

hope it dissipate before it reaches you

edit - cannot remember do you like or dislike storms

Hi Gordon, it started to dissipate, and then turned South! So it never reached me!!

I am petrified of Lightning/thunder, but also fascinated by it, quite unsuitable bed fellows to be honest!!

Thats why I am on here, to learn as much as possible form the good folk of Netweather.....!!

Disgusting weather here, thick low cloud and feeling cold, however when I was walking near Wellington earlier on, it was incredibly humid!

Yeah GFS forecast shows a line of thick cloud spreading over the UK from the southwest with rain building to cover a lot of places apart from the east staying dry. Cloud should reach here by night time 9pm or so. Currently lovely weather here though 23C and sun. Hoping the potential for next week keeps up with an Atlantic low forecast to reach us by Monday.

Don't think the cloud we have now is associated with the low, what are your thoughts on tomorrow?

How tables turn, lol - blissful blue skies here in London, very warm in the sun but notably fresher.

No its not, if it continues as forecast then it will begin to arrive on Sunday (not that I've looked at the charts today). I havent looked re-tomorrow, I'm at work currently and will take a look later.

Showers over Wales look like they may begin to spark into life shortly. These are then progged to push into the NW Midlands and NW England towards evening.

Funny you should say that. The sky to my west and especially the North West has, over the last 30 minutes suddenly taken on a decidedly moody look. Darkening noticeably.

I'm more interested in tomorrow's potential convergence zone across the area at the minute

Low risk given little CAPE but a risk nonetheless.

Skies slowly darkening from the west. Radar doesn't look too exciting at the minute yet though.

Showers slowly pushing into an area of weak CAPE values....should be enough for a rumble or two in a few areas.

I wouldn't be too excited, lots of high level cloud limiting development of showers.

Would be good, it's been another warm and quite humid feeling day. Did you get anything from the showers last night or did they develop just to your south?

Just S of me....literally by about under 10 miles. Could see the pitch black skyline....was livid but I'm used to it now. They literally weakened as they passed here then reinvigorated into a beast!

GFS still keen on a zone of heavy showers and perhaps thunderstorms along a discrete convergence zone tomorrow afternoon

ukprec.png

CAPE is once again rather scant but improved on the 6z

Potential for me to be woken up by loud thunder tomorrow morning before more thunderstorms move in from the south during the day, it's got to happen now I'm feeling unwell. LOL.
