Seems to me that this Brentwood cell is benefiting from greater steering winds aloft compared to previous cells. Updraft column(s) visibly detached from the splaying anvil and downdraughts! In terms of movement, to my eye it seems to be trying to veer to my W/SW but I haven't had a trained eye fixed on it for long.

Its just crossing the river, but I haven't heard any more rumbles for a while.

That looks like it's spinning towards me!!!! (Leicester)!!

I was looking down the barrel of a gun :help::bomb: or it seemed that way, instead :wallbash:

Amazing that just a few short miles makes all the difference :)

Well an exiting few hours in Birmingham....Lots of in the cloud flashes with some good overhead rumbles

These days i tend to turn of the forum so my old computer can cope with the more important radar &

Blitzy....plus it`s usually to much of a distraction away from what we all enjoy....a good overhead storm

Really enjoyed just watching the cells develop and noticing all the surrounding aspects of the storm....
Like the freshness of the big raindrops and how come the Swifts always get it right

Videoed the whole lot and took a 1 sec time lapse of the event.....Not the best method to attempt

to catch a daytime strike ,,,,,but you never know?.... 3500 odd images and a couple of hours video to go... but one good image would justify the effort

just got back on the radar and seen that the cells moving away to the NE Linconshire i presume ...just hope that it stops off at Leicester first

Brentwood cell appears to have run out of puff on blitzortung. The Cb itself still looks pretty good but alas, appears it's the one rumble out of that one for me. Might still get a bit of a soaking to help cool what is undoubtedly another VERY warm and humid day.

I concur. No new strikes on lightningmaps either. :( Does look like its trying to shift south-west as you said too. So close...

I welcome that soaking too! Very hot and humid here, and not much of a breeze to cool things down!

Looks like its headed straight for us again Harry. We might just get that soaking. Core looks moderate right now. Hopefully it will cool things off.

I really cant believe it rain came towards me then split before reaching me, the weather is really annoying me now no rain, no storms (not bothered about that) and its horribly humid, blue sky and sun is nice but this overcast clammy humid what not neeeds to do one.

15-20 minutes of torrential rain, roads are rivers...still hammering it down... Strike hit snake pass.... 10-12 lightening strikes...very close as they were instant loud rolling shot gun booms.... Luckily had lunch in garden at 120pm before this hit....

Took a drive up there today and i was right on the edge of that Manchester storm, what a beauty it was,saw loads of flashes of lightning but not visible so didn't bother filming it,the thunder was brill too rumbling down the valley,i sat on snake pass between 1:45pm-5pm,quiet enjoyed myself:)
