Interesting shape development to the southern cell in Wales on the 15:55 radar grab, but gone again 5 mins later. Looked like a nice little hook echo was forming to my very much uneducated eyes?!

Not a hook echo I'm afraid. Atmospheric conditions (such as shear) are nowhere near enough for anything supercellular today.

Just heard a distant cloud fart.

A miserly distant cloud fart would do me just fine, thank you. Can anyone tell me if i should be hopeful or not for something in my neck of the woods. Its strange to me but storms seem to fire off on the eastern side of lockerbie. They constantly go around lochmaben. Am i beginning to take this personally? :fool:

yep probably

I don't know how much stall you set by the BBC weather app, but if it's at all accurate, you might want to put some headphones on with loud music from around 8pm as its showing a couple of hours of thundery weather at your location.

The whole skyline to the south of MK is going black as the ace of spades. Looks like another storm building just to my west near buckingham.

yep noticed that actually got a phone with earphones and a features length deep space nine episode to try to drown out anything that might occur but that app changes every hour or so and sometimes to something completely different

DS9 wouldn't help much, one pause in speech and you will hear the thunder if it happens at the same time.

Best try Pink Floyds Dark Side of the Moon!!

Or Thunderclap Newman, 'Something in the Air'

Just seen the latest Sky News forecast for tonight.

They're going with several splodges of rain over the Midlands and northern England, and one splodge over my location on the south coast. Definitely won't be happening.

Heat getting a bit uncomfortable here in the Black country , Hoping those storms over towards Leominster will come and pay us a visit later .

I did enjoy the brief light show over Worcester / Droitwich last night so I suppose I shouldn't complain .

These thunderstorms haven't abated the heat or humidity a jot. Just as warm and (unsurprisingly) even more humid outside. Still getting some awesome CGs across London (a +CG just then!)

This may be a daft, ignorant question, but how are you able to differentiate between normal and a positive strike where you are at the moment???
