I was just typing how quiet it has suddenly gone (the rain has dropped off) and then boom ! I could live with constant storms..

Not 100% sure but sitting outside in garden and it all went very quiet esp the birds for a minute then pretty sure i heard a rumble.  If I did then it must be pretty loud in places as we are further north than the current storms in London area. The sun has pretty much disappeared and the skies are looking quite grey.  Slight breeze keeps dropping and very humid..  Now the birds are getting very noisy again

After a brief storm earlier that produced steady rain, the sun has returned. Hope this is a precursor to storms later.

Now very heavy rain and more frequent loud thunder. A few IC strikes as well (been trying to capture pictures of them on the phone but they arent very frequent and hard to catch) although the bulk of the storm has still not got here yet according to lightningmaps. Hopefully the best is yet to come!

Seems to be continually back building the storm here in Croydon, seem to be stuck under the bears cage with some powerful CGS dropping every minute or so, though not the constant thunder as half an hour ago when the storm arrived. Loving it.

That was a loud one!!

Honestly I find London to be a very decent location for storms especially the 'interior' of London.

But London hardly ever gets storms!?

okay you get one or two 'proper' storms a year but generally I've found london to have a little shield of its own

Strike rate from the london storm has vastly decreased these past ten minutes. Looks like its fading.

That storm over Barnard Castle is very slow moving nearly 90 minutes since it developed
