The Quantock cell was a beast :D

Very frequent flashes of lightning, constant thunder and some nice structure. Only saw 2 cg's but they were powerful.

Awesome day, so glad I stayed another day

Were you the one complaining earlier?  how the weather plays tricks eh haha

So humid here. Skies have cleared but I'm just wondering if we're in for a repeat of last night... There's a lot of anaprop on the radar but definitely small cells about nr Southampton.

And here is the beauty over Taunton seen from Bristol! (Very faint just over top of houses)

You say over Taunton, but look on the radar and look how it was on course for here, then jumped slightly NE to avoid Taunton

However, potential for another cell which looks like actually coming my way this time....

I saw that in Cardiff, thought there would have been a torrential downpour,, and even up here in valleys it's looking stormy.. weird, not an active cell for at least 20miles

No I don't remember complaining. I was explaining to some of our younger storm chasers about how there are down days with chasing storms. I'm too old to complain about the weather nowadays. I remember I used to get really upset but nowadays I know the next good storm is always just around the corner :-)

A nasty storm again just to the east of me in Chard again today. Seems to be intensifying too. Frequent lightning and booming thunder. 2 storms in a day.......what are the chances!

What a day it's been down in Somerset! Any idea what it's looking like tomorrow for B&NES, N Somerset, S Glos and Bristol?

Certainly is chucking out some lightning here now. Frequency of around 1 every 15 seconds or so. Good thunder too

Lightning activity just starting to ease up as of 21.50. Very heavy rain though and the main core of torrential rain to my south east isnt moving very much. Flooding could well be an issue

Good Swansea storm from various reports.

Something of interest near Cirencester currently, could be anaprop but if it's the first signs of a shower then could be interesting Swansea style storms cropping up in England

Evening.

Some footage of the storm over IIminster from my car earlier was quite a few flashes and rumbles before I found a spot to pull over.

Gradually easing off now. Lightning very sporadic compared to earlier. Had a good flash 10 minutes ago and now nothing. Was a potent storm half an hour ago too. Very happy with how the afternoon went. What I would class as quite a dangerous storm lightning wise earlier on (all storms with lightning are dangerous of course) but these were some vicious looking bolts with shotgun and ground shaking rumbles. Then this storm. Not as earth shattering as the earlier one, but nighttime lightning is a tick in my book! Heres to summer!

Well, no full-on storm for me, just a couple of rumbles heard. I still think this is fantastic, how  we're not having to wait too long between convective episodes.. it might not be fully fledged set ups, but still welcome and all good fun to watch develop. Tomorrow looks much quieter judging by the models, although there is some meagre CAPE modelled for Central and Southern England later in the afternoon- not expecting it be much of a benefit. The trusty convergence zones are showing up across Wales and Cornwall though, possibly some downpours developing here again.
