Does that mean, nothing is likely below that..

no, not necessarily, rather that modelling infers that the areas in question would have the most enhanced potential forcing for showers/storms....plenty of other parameters to also take into consideration :)

I am driving down to Bristol Airport after 6pm to drop a couple of friends off for their flight (Could be interesting for them....)

But timings seem to show best chance of me seeing anything is around then and i will be tailing behind the forecast line of showers on my way back up into South Glos.

If there are any storms nearby I will try get some photos, because I am likely to be stuck in bank holiday traffic anyway...

Activity looks like it will be scattered anyway. but most forecasts are mainly going for developments to get going from around 6pm, so a couple of hours yet.

My punt is for most of the showers to be in areas just North of the West Country, Gloucestershire, S Midlands, S/Central Wales and maybe some in a line down towards Hampshire.

Sounds about right, showers about to pass over my area soon. Interesting couple of hours hopefully!

My worry is we will be the "breeding ground", with any storms really getting going after they have passed us. As ever though, it is all down to watching the radars and skies really!

Very mid level development with quite a tropical style downpour overhead now but there is blue sky all around, especially to the N and S so indicative of a convergence line, so it's quite a discreet cell as I imagine they all are in this developing line.

Look out! Thunder rumbling away somewhere not far away.

Will go and investigate.

Looks like my decision to come home was a good idea, nothing has developed on Exmoor. It was a nice drive out though if a little tiring. :)

Yeah, I reckon it must have been a couple of miles east of here. I heard it and it looks pretty dark over towards Alderbury, which is just to the South East of Salisbury.

Judging by the radar I would expect showers to really start firing soon. Some more sferics being picked up in S Wales and a couple near Sailsbury.

Haven't announced this anywhere yet, but thought I'd drop in and everyone know the good news!

Firstly - our free radar is now running at 500m resolution (a true 500m using data at that resolution, not interpolated from something else), and updates every 5 minutes:
http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=radar;sess=

Also, for our Extra subscribers the new V7 radar is online, which again uses 500m data, and has a brand new processing engine for speedy updates.
http://www.netweather.tv/secure/cgi-bin/premium.pl?action=radarv7;sess=

On top of this, we've made changes to our subscriptions today with radar subscribers getting a free (and ongoing) upgrade to what was the lite subscription (in addition to all the extra radar features, you now get access to key Netwx charts, standalone lightning detection, the lightning archive, detailed forecasts etc).
https://www.netweather.tv/secure/cgi-bin/login.pl?error=session_timeout;c=14

For those with a Lite sub already, we've been in touch direct with email, but in case you didn't see it yet, your subs have been extended, so you don't lose out due to these changes.

:D

This looks insane thank you!
