With a reported 33 "T's" for the day and 24 of those reports running out of KS, when refined down looks like 14 "T's" cruised through Kansas yesterday. Well done guys for bagging a magnificent catch. Now a little concerned that the T goodness might run out before the end of the season(although it was a late starter so fingers crossed).

Chased the Dodge City storm with the NetWx team. Amazing structure and three tornados together briefly. Chaser convergence was insane! Will try to find a video grab in the morning. Here's a still from it at its height:

That's obliterated the previous record for the NW chase team for the number of tornadoes seen in one day - which stood at 8 last year (June 4th Colorado). Crazy.

Was up to 1am this morning watching several live streams, as some, such as Netwx's, went offline at times due to network coverage, totally addictive just seeing it from afar. Watched the tornadoes going up and down with 2 or even 3 on the ground at one point as the supercell tracked past Dodge City. Every kind of Tornado I think: stoves, elephant trunks, cones, wedges, satellite vortices, sometimes 2 or even 3 of those types I've described at the same time.

Given the hourly mesoscale analysis and special radiosonde ascent at Dodge were indicating 4000 j/kg CAPE, with strong veering and strengthening winds with height, not surprising these storms were such profilic tornado producers! We are lucky to get even near 1000 j/kg CAPE in the UK in a good year ...

And we finally arrive at our hotel for the night. What. A. Day. Here is a snap of just one of the sets of twins, as well as a pic of myself in front of tornado number 3 or 4 or who knows (thanks to Ian for the photo).
