I wonder what will be left of the storms by the time the Channel has Dunkirk... ing the c**p out of them.

You can check the motorway webcams in France...especially at Amiens and Reims.

I've driven over here in stuff like that. It's a bit scary...the worst was having the windscreen bounced by marble-sized hail near Montpellier. I pulled into a service station until it had gone.

There are a lot of heavy showers breaking out now from N London across the East Midlands with some intense precipitation cores, but still no lightning.

Any storms that cross the Channel will/MUST visit the IOW first then we can annoy the rest of you with how amazing they were lol

Well I'm starting to think a trip down to Butser Hill may be on the cards... That way I can see any rogue channel storms which may pass by and run back up the A3 if they happen to track further inland (unlikely I know)

Really warm sunshine here - must count for something... Maybe warming up the mid layers?

What do the professionals think?

To be honest this late in the day heating is not really taking place. Peak heating is usually between 12-3pm but max temps can actually happen after this time as the heat "lifts" and the ground warms up.

Think that's right please correct me peeps if I am wrong

Watch em die off now lol. Really hope not as they look very strong If they keep up their strength might have to head down towards Bembridge for a good night view out to sea

Surrey, the sun has recently come out here and the sky is immediately awash with Cu, some of which was towering vertically like chimney stacks. Whether it's late enough to provide enough oomph to build meaningful Cu clouds remains to be seen.

But there is a LOT of power in those storms... Even if they die off surely conditions could wake them up on our shores?

fingers, toes and balls crossed!

Yep, you can count on the channel rouening the storms as ever. Bit of a pain in the Brest...
