Not an inspiring outlook for Friday looking at ECM/UKMO-GM, or even on GFS. Not pulling in that warmth off the continent, and, as Harry mentioned, SW'erly jet over France, so a more significant convective period unlikely anyway even if we do get some decent instability.  Ideally need negatively-tilted upper trough, but all models not showing that.

Can't see today being a decent one, just the usual flash and fart scenarios and then it's over. Swear there used to be a time when pm northwesterlies gave us some decent and potent daytime storms!

Later this week was looking good, but recently it's been ebbing away and questionable as to whether it'll even get across the channel now.

Off to Spain on the 5th June, so hopefully I'll see some decent action down there.

That shower that's just spring up south of Leicester is headed right at me. Lots more showers with very large raindrops kicking off all around the M1 corridor now.

Cheers mate. Heard distant rumbles earlier on, as soon as I clocked onto it, it diminished as quick as it started! Typical pulse storms as we've seen all season pretty much so far.

Only seems to be them ones that clipped the southeast two days ago that had any longevity to them. The ingredients have just not collaborated together thus far to give decent, reliable storms!

so far the showers seem to be just off to my east with that one just off to my SE showing a little lightnng according to radar

the ones further north don't seem to be thundery at the minute which I find surprising

edit - one to SE of seems to have died a death at least as thundery activity goes

This is the one just to your SE Gordon, rumbling nicely.

Taken from just NW of Northampton.

Impressive storm popped off on radar just N of Kettering around 16:45. Seems to be back-building, and developing a very high-precip core. Frequent lightning and thunder. Fantastic and unexpected, considering how quickly it developed.

Bit of a better angle of the kettering beast.

I also have one the other side sneaking up behind me and building fast.

Yeah certainly impressive, it seems to be stuck going nowhere and constantly growling away, unexpected treat!

Actually got a light rain shower as I drove home from Exeter earlier on this afternoon which was surprising, still nothing to write home about. Good luck to everyone at the end of this week, it's looking good.

Basically a write off except the extreme South. Looking nowhere near as good now. We need to see the jet over France extend northwards, along with the troughing to the west of Portugal.

Meanwhile, storm going nuts over Milton Keynes towards Luton. Surrey, watch out for this one!
