hope that clears up any confusion that my reply might have created

Its cool dude, thing with this Evening, theres better inhibiton and the wind shear improves too, thats why i think if any storms/showers go up then will be better organised and individual rather than scattered and messy.

Fairly heavy shower just moved through here. Some fairly dark cloud based at times too. Have seen what may have been some scud cloud too.

rain to my NW seems to have into snail pace mode

it's probably going to be my only significant shower but it'll last a couple of hours knowing my luck

Ah going back and forth on the radar looks to indicate the low is centred further north than expected residing somewhere over Preston currently. Just amateur forecasting here William was hoping you'd get something but everything is quite limited anyway so I guess most if not all are being dissappointed by todays potential currently.

Been some moderate to light showers on and off throughout the day here.

More chance of Liverpool winning the Europa than getting thunder today. 15c and dry here.

Yes, another term used (incorrectly) a little too frequently on here whenever showers are organised a little more linearly on radar, or when there's a narrow band of heavy rain ahead of a cold front.  A Squall line is actually a type of MCS where thunderstorms are organised along a common lifting mechanism. A good shear environment is key to MCS formation.  Main characteristic of squall lines is very strong (or damaging) straight line winds from downdraft/outflow ahead of the line.

 You can say that again.

I don't really know why I bother on marginal days like this.

Several very heavy showers appearing over the Reading area.

These are what I'll be watching for the next hour, could potentially deliver the goods?

They're just that..hefty showers. Doesn't feel remotely stormy sorry to say. Maybe the action will come later/elsewhere, but I can't see me catching anything other than a soaking today!

First long rumble of thunder here in North Hampshire at 4.35pm.

How we've not had some serious weather up here today I don't know to be honest. Radar looks very lively and the humidity is really quite high but not much rain.................yet!

Looks like it's kicked off over Andover..... 15 or so strikes in last 20 minutes?

Anyone on site?

I'm South East of that and can hear it. Looks dark in that direction.

Louder rumbles now.
