sky has turned a bit stormy in Basingstoke, even has a little tinge of green to it

Isn't that indicative of hail?

NW France lighting up a bit more...

yes normally, its ever so subtle though. I don't think it will amount to much

It's gonna be a waiting game for the next hour I reckon - the west has more cloud and precip but the east has seen more sun generally today so possibly action somewhere between the two. But exactly when is anyone's guess...

Finally finished  work was  nice  to  walk home in the rain with  it feeling muggy out there, Today has been just like Saturday grey overcast sky muggy/humid sun trying to break through, had rain just after 2.30pm which was light and didnt last long but was refreshing, hoping for a repeat of Saturday but would prefer any storms to come tonight when its dark.

Precipitation is moderate here but its showing as only light on radar so we could be in for some very heavy rain in an hour or two.

I think it's more later on bud and into tomorrow the greatest risk :)

I know there's a risk overnight but things are hitting up on the rain radar around Basingstoke. That's what I'm interested in at the mo

And anyone know if there's something up with Estofex? I'd have thought they would have put up a forecast for today, especially considering the level of activity over Spain

its probably the same smell. I've just always described it as "smelling thunder" - its like a strange metallic smell?

I'm wondered this rain band before the showers will inhibit any further activity...

Yes, that's it. Did you know that that smell is actually pollution being washed up on the roofs and roads when it rains ?

My area of interest right now is once the main band heads through we see these developing storms in France, we will only see this affect us as long as they are elevated.cells in france.jpg

Indeed! If only that had happened before they crossed the Severn Estuary, could've squeezed another thunder day hehe.

Another cell looks to be approaching Swindon, but beneath that is just a general area of light-moderate rain so I think my expectations are more for after the passing of this rain band than before.

The one north of Newport is heading straight towards me in Brecon.
