Oh my. Four distinct storms right now and all four look very active.

Something has got to kick off here soon. Surely we can't miss now?

Yes, finally we have ignition on the continent as guess where those thunderstorms are going... this way! :yahoo:

I've turned the audio on my Nest cam live stream now, which can be found here: https://video.nest.com/live/OIJL3I

I don't know, as someone else said, whether the Normandie storms are surface based or elevated. Anyhow, give them time. It has been very warm here today and they should develop nicely.

They could be surface based, and most actually seem to be heading towards Pantz, which is going to go down very well...

Anyway, I couldn't post for the majority of today, so basically we've had some Altocumulus and Altocumulus Castellanus cloud floating around, but nothing too significant. Fingers crossed for tonight but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Well that was fun!

Decent small thunderstorm just passed through having formed out of nowhere. Battering rain, hail and two overhead thunder cracks. Lots of rumbling before and after too. Understandably, the roads are partially flooded.

Back to warm sunshine now and it's rumbling away to the northwest.

Oooh, latest radar refresh might be suggesting new stuff building near Leamington Spar. Let's hope it develops further as steering winds would bring this part of W Mids into play later on.

Round 2 for Leicester soon? Another electrified cell north of Northampton. Getting dark to the SSE again with the sun being out.

Hi folks,

Very new to this but thought what better day to sign up. Looking forward to learning lots as a part of this community!

Anyway, looks like I'm too far east here in Lincoln to get anything today.

They're taking their time getting up here! It'll be dark first at this rate, or  was this  supposed to happen. .

Woah, dewpoint 16C at Coleshill and 14C at BHX.  Cell earlier on moistened up the atmosphere.  Nice CAPE environment for further cells yet.

Meaty storm east of Hereford. Nice.

Bit concerned cells to our SE may be weakening somewhat? (electrically at least)

Hi there and welcome

Lincolnshire is often cited on here as hogging the UK's thunderstorms! Not this round, but your day will come. Nice to see parts of the rest of the UK lightning up though.

Do you use "lightningmaps"? - http://www.lightningmaps.org/realtime?lang=en#y=46.050024699999994;x=1.4829881000000578;z=5;t=3;m=sat;r=0;s=201;d=2;a=2;dc=0;o=1;n=0;

Stratford cell has now died it seems. Nothing to our SE of note now. Shame but some good cells to the NE and SW of here so it may pass pretty tamely here with just some rain. :(

I wouldn't give up yet but maybe the cloud has scuppered our chances after all?

Anyway, this storm does have a history of re-awakening so you never know.
