The shower thst passed us has intensified as it moved north. If you're south of Oxford, should be getting a soaking now. Funnily enough, the skies still looked capped here. And the cloud cover may stop anything else developing in these parts

Completely different up here today with cloud and fairly breezy. Tomorrow though great chance of some action and if these showers developing today are anything to go by...................Could be in for a treat

Here there's currently good sunny spells and it's 22.0 C.

How depressing its only about 10 miles between us. hopefully I'll see some flashes in the distance tonight to the north and east.

Clouded over here. Actually quite gloomy now. Not sure what that might mean for those showers/storms heading this way. We shall see...

A grey overcast start to the day with light rain just before 8am and remained overcast throughout the morning,Sun eventually burnt away the clag leaving blue sky and the sun warming things up.

Unfortunately the clag has returned but remains humid so maybe with some luck could get something later although wouldn't put money on it.

Disappointed that the first day off of two has started like this was hoping for a warm sunny day like the last few days have been but its not to be.

EURO4 seems to be the best so far at forecasting the showers which have formed:

Which has this for later:

So looking at this the area between Hereford and Leicester is looking good, but radar watching and nowcasting are best in these kind of situations

this model also shows nothing for tomorrow , today was always going to be the more active day out of the 2 anyway

Sky's starting to bubble up here just now.

Hazy sun breaking through again now. Some potent slowish moving cells around the M4 corridor/just north so far. Happy with my prediction from last night so far.

Very warm and humid and should hopefully be in a good spot for later. :)

Ac Cas all around here too in contrast to a hour and a half ago where it was milky-blue skies, textbook summer-plume weather,

That's promising then. And the reports from just over the other side of the M6 in Walsall are promising too. In fact, quite something that the sky conditions are that different in Walsall compared to here.  Hopefully this murk is just very local and very temporary.

Good luck to all you lot in the Midlands. Lots of storms firing by the looks of it! Living in Southampton my area of interest currently is the area to the SE of the channel islands. Seems to be a few heavy showers popping up there

Indeed, looking at the satellite, there is a clump of cloud literally just skimming here so not surprised you're getting a better view in Walsall!

But a clearance from the south is coming...which should pave the way for what we're waiting for!

Feeling a lot more optimistic now...the internet is a wonderful thing!

Edit: blue skies making an appearance here now :D

Sat atop a hill just now near Stroud watching it come in. Currently look in line to be in the gap between the two western most blobs on radar. Might be that something fills the gap as it comes over, ccertainly gone very still tho not much to look at..

Absolutely nothing to ge excited about here on the south coast. A tonne of high cloud and a cool breeze.

Definitely does feel increasingly humid, thankfully there is a nice cooling breeze earlier on in the sunshine it felt very warm indeed. Indications of slight instability I see 'towers' in the distance fetch the fire brigade.

Little Storm grumbling away to my west, quite marvellous sitting in the warm sunshine with a cider, whilst watching the dark skies grumble away!!
