Ditto here PM, but very pleasant, not that bad a summer really in this part of the world with July values well over 0.5 C above a 20 year average and well below average rainfall.

What a gorgeous weekend of weather that was. Sure it was a bit blustery today but for the southern half of the UK at least it's been a beautiful couple of days.

But be aware the meto updates. They're awesome most of the time, outdoing the models we view.

They were good last winter, but this summer they've been mediocre.

Yes, that wind has been an absolute pain. Breeze is nice, but strong wind to ruin an otherwise great run of days, such a shame. Train from London back to Bristol was delayed yesterday because of tree falling over on the line - something I'd expect in autumn not August.

Hey ho, after the next few days summer proper returns so lots to look forward to. Not a lot if any rain for us in the south either.

Yup, another sunny and pleasantly warm day!

Really not liking the look of next week, the return of unnecessary heat. Right in time for a run of night shifts too, great.

Been a decent summer so far IMBY, lots of sunshine, warm by day and night, cucumbers growing without a green house, tomatoes coming along nicely, corn nearly ready for picking and a sun burnt neck, all signs of a decent summer, only June was wet.:good:

Nevermind, get yourself a fan or air cooling unit, you'll survive, it's only going to be a few hot days. As for the millions off school and/or on 'staycations', finally there's a decent August to enjoy and a chance to really profit from our lovely beaches, outdoor activities etc, rather than being stuck indoors freezing cold and watching it pour with rain. The UK tourist industry will get a nice boost too, after recent crap summers.

Indeed it will. With falling pound, any who come over for a UK holiday will get a nice additional surprise.

Really not liking the look of this plume that's being modelled. Far too hot.

Good time to buy a holiday home/caravan etc here apparently, as the amount of people taking UK holidays is predicted to rise due to the falling pound. At least if you do already own one you might be able to enjoy it next week.

It's been lovely the past few days, have you been locked in a dark room?!

And last summer was a good one for the south! Some folks in here really do have unrealistic expectations of the British summer, this one has been mediocre but it's been far from bad. If you can't sit outside comfortably without it being 30+ celsius then something isn't right.

BBC have 30C for us on Wednesday next week.. though at this range that's completely pointless.
