keep getting light showers here, indeed heading north where they will turn into monsters no doubt.

Anyone know what the direction storms will be travelling is today? Looks like NNW becoming NW to me but I might be  looking at the wrong thing.

A light S to SWly steering flow over most of England and Wales, though veering Wly over far north of England. Showers and storms likely slow-moving though.

Lovely and warm down here in Eastbourne. Estofex seems to be wrong already - looks like the south will largely escape anything thundery.

if it's purely down to surface heating then things would be different - almost cloudless skies here and the sun is doing very well for April. Ah well there's always next week

Im at work at the moment but can finally post. Light to moderate showers that were around this morning have cleared and now its beautiful sunshine feeling quite humid. I can see convection initiation in the odd place or two.

Im liking how its feeling right now.

wonder if this is the line of showers that will get going this afternoon as if moves more into the area nick marked as an area of convergence and focus for storms

edit - please ignore reads a lot like an earlier post

That might be a good shout, Gordon: 1 hour back, it was wall-to-wall sunshine, now the sky's full of blobs of very rapid convection...

Again the biggest of them has just stopped and intensifyed the last 20 - 30 minutes.

Nice, just lacked that necessary piece of action, but great to see so early in the UK season.

I can see large towers that have broken the cap but the main storms are still off to the southwest of Norwich where I am now. Feel a cool breeze now in contrast of feeling pretty hot just 30 mins ago.

Afternoon all, it would seem there's a bit of backbuilding going on.

Down here in Essex the sky has become very convective in the last hour, before then it was clear!

Massive towers are popping up all around but noticeably more to the North of my location.
