Believe me William,  the showers have formed around London, some fantastic cloudscapes with large anvils and driven through heavy snow twice now.

Nice convective weather here.

The first shower had a ten minute pea-hail sized hailstorm and the second was a five minute mix of graupel and snow!!!

Lovely anvils around as well and little to no rain.

Localized convection going on here with a typical spring-shower skyscape, NWR showing lightning to the east close to Castleton but aside from eerily-dark skies I couldn't see or hear anything. Saw a 757 around 7000ft 'bombing' it full pelt out from Manchester, turning over the Goyt Valley.

You can see Poole and Bournemouth getting hammered on my webcam.
I've missed the showers here- which was good for me today. There has been some lovely mammatus and fallstreak though.

Reports from @Evening thunder of heavy snow and hail just east of Axminster, not enough for me to drive there though, it's gone back to rain now.

Thunder, hail, sleet, rain & snow all present here within the last hour.

The shower cells are very small, you can see the boundary all around them.  There are just so many though making it a fascinating day of convective meteorology.

Really is one of the best days this year weather wise.  I can't remember the last time I saw snow falling so late in the season.

I'm going outside to see if I can hear thunder.

Can't hear anything yet, I may do if the shower holds it's intensity as it moves south.

That's more like it! No doubt the Irish sea will kill it off though.

Not had any thunder here in Milton Keynes yet but the sky has been spectacular this afternoon. Big mean cell from the north west just went by while another one to the south had an overshooting top bubbling up. Could have sworn there was a bit of rotation in the nearest of the two.
