Not lots of it but there is an expanding  area of a little more than just wesk DLS that may aid storms in this neck of the woods.

latest news 24 forecast has heaviest showers/storms over next few hours more focused over S England M4 corridor would seem a safe bet and they seems to be w - e as some have already stated but emphasis on hit and miss so a lot will miss out

Sounds amazing. Some of the best storms that I've seen were in France during a cycling trip...it's the place to be! Can you share any pics/videos? :-)

I was a bit scared to go right out into the garden because I had direct hit in January and it blew my phone up! CG strikes in the hills and valleys here are very unpredictable and dangerous. I have a porch and a nice big kitchen window that I watch from, but I do go into the garden and watch the distant lightning...

Looking good in the SE UK.

Sounds good, Neil.  Just ran the radar over your area and that storm more or less developed on the spot - no movement at all.  Notice how there are 'daughter' cell(s) developing INVOF that storm, indicating cold pooling at the surface generating vorticity/lift in surrounding environment.  First storm likely formed via backed flow offshore converging with opposing winds inland.  Good stuff.

I also noticed that this storm here in Norfolk has also stalled just before its reaching the sea like its scared of it or something lol

Edit still doesnt seem to be done here as there is towering cumulus here in Norwich.

Husband is in Canterbury at the min, has reported flooding and hail, he also said sleet, but I think he means big hail stones to be honest. Can't see how there could be sleet today. He said the windscreen is covered with ice.

Looks like a perfect isolated and fairly severe electrical Storm in Canterbury... Any sign of it having rotation?

Bet it's got nice structure!

cant see that far from Wycombe area where I am at the moment, but in about an hour I should be back with my van and then the chase starts! :-D
