Nice to see some of the same places that get storms get hit with storms again today! I dont ask for much i would be happy with a 20 minute storm with some loud booming thunder. I keep joking to the wife about moving out of Telford but i think im seriouslly considering it. Lincolnshire seems a good area to move to :D !

Now does distant thunder from a storm 10-15 mile away count? Arrgghh! I did not see any lighning and i was in the garden (its pretty open facing north and west) i heard quite a few distant rumbles but as soon as i went back in the house i heard nothing.  Had my 3 and a half year old in the garden with me and he said it was rubbish! He got so excited when he heard the thunder and though it was going to be loud. Alas it wasn't! Overall pretty disappointed as i thought i would be finally out but close but no cigar.

Meh!!! Still waiting and it makes it painful when we have to endure the extremes of heat and humidity whilst the storms decide to fire anywhere but here!

a depressing week with the north inexplicably getting the storms which the south would be expected to get considering the heat which has built up. Over and over again the forecast says Midlands or the far west. Then a cell pops up in France or in the channel and it has two options - go west along the channel staying far enough away to make a chase impossible, or die out on reaching an apparently 'juicy' area of warm humid air.

i don't like the obsessiveness of the media either banging on and on about any storms up north for days and days, making out that we all enjoyed them. I'VE SEEN NOTHING!!!

the storms yesterday were very impressive yes, but were deserved down here. It's so hot. In the old days heat meant thunderstorms! Simple!

no - now it doesn't. 5 times this summer exceptional temperatures have just fizzled away while colder areas of the country see storms for no discernible reason despite their air temp being hovering around a relatively minor 18°.

I despair!
