Howdy!

Fresh new thread for you ladies and gentlemen in the North-West England zone. Previous topic was getting a bit long and since Easter has arrived, seemed suitable to unravel a new thread. Please continue your discussions regarding the weather in here. :)

Old thread here:

Seems ages since I was in here last as no weather to shout about had a few squally showers today and was quite windy unfortunately I've been struck down by that blooming Novo virus so no updates on meals as I haven't eaten for two days up to now can't even manage a beer so I'm definetly not myself :(

Feeling fresher today, sunny spells in between the squally showers.

Went to the coast for a few days, Good Friday was the pick of the days.  Thankfully we'll miss the worse of Monday's storm, but even the South will be happy it will be an overnight affair.  Could leave the bulk of tomorrow with a usable day albeit quite windy.

Barring one moderate shower this morning which raced through due to the strong wind. It's been pretty much dry and sunny all the way. The wind is a real cutter though.

That was the first decent thunderstorm I had after a long while snice last Summer. When I was ten years younger I use to fear them but now I enjoyed them!! :D

Nice looking CB anvil moving in from the southwest here, classic textbook example which makes a nice beginning to the convective season.

The thunderstorm also gotten rid of the annoying cloudy weather we had too from the last couple of days. :)  Alot of blue skies to the west now which is a relieve from the dull weather we had.

As I said last night about the French storms, these are decent productions for March! The strike rate in the NW UK is impressive...enjoy.

Windy, cool & showery Easter Sunday, quite squally at times with periods of sunshine then heavy rain/hail showers along with gusty winds. Max temp 7.8c.

Could be some snow for the Peak District tonight, Met Office seem to think so aswell. Snowline looking pretty high though. Kinder Scout & Bleaklow might be good for a wintry walk in the morning.

It was rather a surprise to see snow on the tops all around this morning -  Top of Cowpe is very white!
