Time to find this thread again, it's going to be a roller coaster ride this winter :)

Yes and nice to have GP back again;  it's like old times. I'll be watching the strat thread and model thread  constantly  throughout the winter although the latter  is not always easy lol.

Can't wait till these regionals properly come alive again.

I'm well trained now in skipping the posts of certain members and blocking others, makes it a better read :)

You can sense Gp is excited in his last post of the strat thread.

Yes me too,  it's the only stress free way. And yes you can indeed, he's not the only one. :-)

Ah well, 51 days (7 weeks) until the solstice, we can then start looking forward to longer days again!

Might have been the last warm feeling day today for quite some time looking at Novembers forecasts.  Fresher winds will spill southwards tomorrow, and we could be on the cooler side of the jet for the foreseeable with the Polar Vortex in a slumber.

Agreed, it felt more like September than the very back end of October this afternoon although the lower angle of the sun gave away the time of year.

a lovely day though to end what was on the whole a lovely month.

now let's see if the change of month brings a change of weather and hopefully an early taste of frost and snow.

After a cloudy start, a decent afternoon but compared to yesterday with definite nip in the air.

overnight should bring the seasons first windscreen scraping exercise for most of us and if the forecasters are close to correct, the first of many over the coming months.

winter's around the corner and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to what it may bring.

-1.4C here with a frost on surfaces, already a few degrees colder than forecast for this time of night in this area. But doesn't surprise me as we seem to be a good few degrees colder with these clear and calm conditions with all the cold coming down the slope to my NE as it rises up to the town centre and down into this valley. The Met Office aren't perfect with micro climates.

Well I was Surprised to see last night the temperature was actually forecast to rise here by a few degrees..   it was correct. 4.2°C at 23:30, 8.6°C an hour ago. Back down to 8.1°C now. Can't really figure out why it did that. A trough?

First "guided" gritting run on the Leigh Ellenbrook guided busway this morning, has -2.8 c in a couple of the frost hollows, here's to plenty more runs being required this winter!!!

Think it's going to be awhile before the first frost here at this rate. Need an easterly  and the sea to cool down.

Unfortunately mate we live in the warmest place of the region, but at least this year is looking better than the last 2 if we want snow. :)
