Day dawned cloudy and remained overcast until lunch time when long sunny intervals developed.  Felt very warm and muggy.  When I emerged from my local recreation centre at 6pm it was pelting down.  I understand there was thunder but I was swimming with my waterproof mp3 player turned right up so didn't hear the thunder, the pool hall window blinds were down so I couldn't see outside.  Looking at the radar the storms brewed up over the Cheshire plain and were restricted to our area.

Overnight min:14.4C, max 25.5C (sheltered), current 18.0C.  Overcast 8/8. Calm F0. Currently no precipitation, ground wet. Pressure 1016mb.

Coming up on 22°C now. I can't stand being in the garden too much, been in the sun too  often in the last week.

Its been a great spell of weather in the Northwest and North Wales. Certainly topping the sunshine and high temperature charts for a sometime now. Well pleased for all you lot, you deserve it after last summers crap season and the preceding bog winters.

This prolonged sunny, dry, and at times (like today) hot weather for the North West feels strange but very much welcome.  We've been a very lucky favoured part of the country for much of the back end of May and now the start of June.  The Atlantic will influence us more next week and our name will be on most of what's greets us off the Irish sea, but so far it's been a decent spring, and a flying start to our summer.

Been amazing recently, sunshine levels must be well above normal - hopefully much more to come for the rest of Summer. Or is that asking too much for our normally soggy region? :)

Warm tonight especially indoors, 16C outside right now but inside it is 25C in the bedroom after days of sun baking the roof - going to be hard to sleep right through. Not much wind to give any air to the bedroom either.
