Well, that's five days in a row of sunny, dry if a bit blustery weather. I'll take that any day over horizontal rain! I daresay it won't be too long before the gales arrive so best to make the most of the sun!

@Northernlights

I think this eclipses your hay bales with their rain jackets....

Nice to see the £ has recovered after our glorious leader's valiant speech proclaiming destiny and freedom and all that doolittle claptrap. Oh... recovered yesterday's losses.

Fk.

Coolish earlier this morning when out with dog - 9C - hardly any breeze , which made it feel quite pleasant all in all.

2.5C about 50m from the high water line at Buckie just now so maybe an air frost somewhere this morning....  The seaward horizon has turned that murky brown high pressure colour so not seeing across to Caithness now.

Omg what has happened to the met office weather app? Mine crashed so I had to reinstall it and now I appear to have a new super-duper (not) version. Yuk, hate it.

Overnight low of - 1.8C, currently around freezing with a light frost in evidence. Forecast for 8am is still saying 8C so it's way out.

First air frost of the year at -.0.8c Been a while since early October has produced frosts. Countryside looking very seasonal now especially this morning.

On the drive into work this morning the colour was noticeably changing on more of the trees, not just the Horse Chestnuts anymore. Bracken and other ground flora changing colour too now. Much more distinct autumnal feel to the countryside even compared to just a few days ago.

Started cloudy yesterday but sun did break through. Today the cloud looks like it will stick around a bit longer

Started sunny here this morning but cloudy now.  Chances of more sun over the weekend perhaps.

Stunningly poor tempertaure forecast for last night!  I was supposed to get no lower than 11C...

Stunningly clear sky this morning - Caithness bathed in crisp pink light!

Still stunningly blue here as well although standing in the sun in totally calm conditions you can feel that its summer strength has gone. Finished taking in bales this morning so thats harvest over. Currently  only 11c in spite of sun.Very dry air at 55%RH

Largs felt summer like today. Went through there today on the motorbike. Took the Old Largs Road to Greenock instead of the coastal road which I love. I wasn't disappointed. Kept my speed down as it was often single track and the road is popular with cyclists & sheep. First photo of is of Loch Thom and the second is in the descent into Greenock looking north.

Stunning day here too. Started off with a slight frost and a low of -0.8C. Did some tidying of the veg patches in the morning and it was a typical Autumn day i.e. chilly out of the sun but more than pleasant in the sun. Went for an hour on my bike in the afternoon and wished I'd put on a thicker layer as the sun intermittently went behind the clouds that had appeared it was decidedly chilly, especially with the 'wind chill' from moving.

Cripes cold again this morning!  Just realised I'm still on summer tyres - haven't needed winter tyres this early for years!

Just thinking about changing our tyres this week another fine sunny morning but with some sea fog down at the Firth was -0.5c at 6.00am this morning with frozen car windscreens again but now 4c

Just to add a more wintry look  about it today with the sea fog and the tops of some wintry looking showers out to the NE over the North Sea

Cool rather than a cold start here. Overnight low of 0.8C but was back up to a couple of degrees by the time I got up and there' been a shower of rain so it was wet rather than frosty. Plenty of blue sky and sun in evidence this morning again. Not been too bad a spell for October but I am sort of missing a good 'hoolie', just not this weekend please as we're off to Grantown-On-Spey with the caravan.

Edit: Wife was talking about getting her winters put on whilst she's off school, but my bet is she'll not get around to it until after she goes back. I run M+S on the Outlander 4x4 all year round, undoubtedly not as good as pure winter tyres but for OK for what we generally get weather wise.

10th October and I don't think it's rained yet out West in Glasgow this month (?), this must be some kind of record for an autumn month?
