That band of snow now died out, sky much brighter. Snow was too wet to lie, at least here in the town centre.

But WTF is it with this second winter thing anyway. Got a new car a few weeks ago and it came with ice skates. Luckily Mrs SS has my old car complete with much loved winters should the need arise.

...Which will jinx any last taste of the white stuff for here.

Heavens. It's been snowing for a mere 15 mins and already everything is going white. Temp dropped from 2C to 1C very quickly.

More snow than we've had all winter!

Strange old day with convective wintry showers milling about in the Firth  in an east wind and high cloud to the south with occasional showers underneath it over the Cairngorms.The sunset was a  real wintry one with the showers clouds highlighted in pink and grey. Not at all like an end of April day with  the countryside looking barren with the very strong very cold winds having burnt the grass ( saw a map today online that showed grass  temperatures  down to -9c last night)and anything that was turning green. The weather nut in me is fascinated but the farmer is getting a bit frustrated with cows and calves stuck inside until grass growth resumes. Currently 3c.
